![]() I have to walk her up and down the stairs due to her rickety bon. Well, mine mostly sleeps but they are there! This is Peanut. Let's see those pets that work right alongside you. This is a purpose built item to handle exactly this.ĭo you work from home or office? Doesn't matter. If handshake is your issue then it should work across the board with the dock in place but some things will not work w/o it. Those cheap china made splitters from amazon are also reliable solutions if you don't want to use the dock (can be had for about $20 or less). ![]() TL DR: Resolution problem, using the dock is a reliable solution. ![]() (Alternatively the HP resolution could just be something odd that the TV does not like such as 1200 lines or 600 lines or something computer-y and the dock just forces the secondary display into the correct mode before the handshake takes place.) My presumption is that either the TV is 4K and the Dell are also 4K capable where the HPs are not, or, the TV is 1080p and the Dells are native 1080p resolution and the HPs are no. This is actually a pretty common trick/requirement when you are connecting 4K displays to older devices or vice versa. All the docking station is doing is performing the HDMI handshake and stripping out some information to the TV that would prevent it from performing it when connected to the computer. I'd need more information to pin down your issue expressly but it seems like you're running into some kind of handshake issue. All of my Dell latitude laptops don't have this issue. Not sure why I need to use an un-powered docking station to make it work. The only time it doesn't work is when the 20 cable is directly connected to the laptop to the meeting room panel. If I connect the 20 cable directly to the monitor with out the docking station it work. If I add a none power travel docking station connected to the USB type c port with the 20 ft cable attached it works. Now if I user a thinner 6 foot cable they will work. I have several HP Elitebook laptop that will not connect to meeting room monitors through the panel.
